Daily Quant Daddy is an independent educational maths website. This page explains what information we handle, why, and how to contact the site's operator.
Who is responsible?
The operator of Daily Quant Daddy is responsible for handling the personal information used to run the website. For privacy enquiries or requests, contact [email protected].
Information the site handles
- Account and sign-in information: The site uses Supabase Auth, including anonymous sessions for visitors and optional Google sign-in. When you connect Google, the authentication provider may supply your email address, name, and other basic identity information associated with sign-in. We use account identifiers to link your progress to you.
- Challenge activity: We record which questions you open and solve, your elapsed time, number of attempts, hint usage and related timestamps. The app does not currently keep a history of every numerical answer you type.
- Public contributions: If you choose a public nickname or post a comment, that information may be shown to other players who have solved the relevant question. A comment may be displayed alongside solving-time information. Please avoid putting private information in your nickname or comments.
- Support messages: If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Browser information: The app uses browser local storage to remember your theme, maintain a sign-in session through Supabase, and retain temporary demo progress when the backend is unavailable. Hosting, authentication and delivery services may also process routine technical and security information, such as IP addresses and requests.
Why we use this information
To provide the challenges and optional accounts you request, save progress, display contributions you choose to post, prevent abuse, investigate security issues and respond to enquiries. Our relevant legal bases may include providing the service requested by the user and legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, as applicable.
The current site code does not include advertising pixels or a separate behavioural analytics system. It does load essential external libraries to run the maths editor and authentication.
Who provides the service?
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website; Supabase provides authentication and the database; and Google provides optional sign-in. Some maths and app libraries are delivered from jsDelivr. These providers may process technical information under their respective privacy practices. The Supabase application database is configured in an EU region, but provider services and network traffic may involve processing in other locations.
What other players can see
Other players do not receive your Google email address through the challenge discussion. They may see the public nickname you choose, your published comments and solving-time information alongside those comments. Developer accounts may access question submissions for moderation, troubleshooting and integrity checks.
How long data is kept
Challenge progress and account-related records are retained to support account history and site operations. The service does not currently have an automatic, fixed-duration deletion schedule. Private security and recovery logs may retain records of administrative edits and deleted attempts. You can request a review or deletion of your information by email; we will assess and process requests according to applicable law, including any necessary legal or security retention.
Your choices and rights
Google sign-in is optional for browsing and trying the challenges. You can sign out and change your public nickname in the site. You may also contact us to ask about accessing, correcting, exporting or deleting personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing where applicable. There is not yet an automated account-deletion button.
For privacy requests, email [email protected]. Please do not send passwords or login tokens. If you are in the UK, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security and changes
We use HTTPS, account-based access controls and restricted database functions to help protect site data. No internet service can promise absolute security. This policy may be revised as features develop; significant changes will be reflected here along with an updated date.
